Eat Meat Only Once a Week (my mission statement)

The goal of The Sunday Night Carnivore is simple: reduce meat consumption to only once a  week. When I say “meat” I’m talking about anything that has a heartbeat. I don’t know if things like mussels or clams have heartbeats, but I’m talking about them too. Meat production is bad on almost every level. So many resources are needed (water, oil, crops, etc.) to produce meat, and the whole system creates so much waste, erosion and pollution. There is also the negative health issues related to eating too much red meat, and not that seafood is particularly unhealthy, but it is being fished into extinction.  Finally, some might consider the treatment of many of the animals being raised for meat consumption questionable (not that this has every personally bothered me). All these negative impacts just to get our mouths to feel a certain way. Therefore, aside from giving up meat completely, which is extremely difficult for us carnivores to do, eating meat ones a week seems to be a fair compromise.

There are only 2 rules a Sunday Night Carnivore must follow.

1. A Sunday Night Carnivore Must only eat meat once a week.

2. A Sunday Night Carnivore must respected their meat, and prepare it to it’s highest potential.

So please, become a Sunday Night Carnivore and help restore the respect meat nowadays seldom receives.
